Mental health, the health for well being of our mind which we mostly rather always ignore.

We have already discussed briefly what is mental health or why is it important for us, in our other post “Menta health” about this.

Here we are going to focus on some actions or habits that we need to perform that will serve as good food for our mental health.

And we all know one of the best ways to take care of our health is to intake good food and the same goes for our mental health.

The 7 foods:

food for mental health

1) Meditation

Self Awareness, Meditation

As general or stereotype, it may sound but there is nothing better than meditation for our mental health.

Our mind is in constant chaos and some or the other thing always keeps running into our mind.

Calming our minds or making it peaceful is very big and difficult task for us. The only time that happens for us is while we are asleep.

Rather still our mind is running as we see dreams in our sleep.

But this is where meditation comes to our rescue.

Meditation helps us calming down our mind and making it peaceful thus making the difficult task possible.

This results in stability and clarity for us.

Most of the successful people follow this and thus this is the first food on our list of seven.

2) Books

Reading

Books have the treasures waiting to be found.

I have been advocating reading and reading for very long and it is very good food for our mental health too.

Books that help you understand your mind, bring insights to you about human behavior, and helps you bring stability in your emotions are the best form of books that you can consider as good food for your mind.

Some of the books that I recommend are:

The power of your subconscious mind.
How to stop worrying and start living.
The secret.
Start with why.
The monk who sold his Ferrari.

And the list can go on so make your own list…

Along with books, you can also read blogs like ours which helps with your wider insights and knowledge.

3) Spend time with loved ones

Happy big Family

May it be your family, close friends or your relatives, try to spend some time of your day pr week with them.

We, humans, are social beings and when we bond with people and especially with our loved and close ones, we feel highly satisfied and relaxed.

This thus helps in dealing with small mental health issues.

4) Exercise

Exercise

Yoga, Zumba, muscle training or any form of exercise should be done on a regular basis for good mental and physical health.

When we perform physical exercise, along with sweat all the negativity also gets out from our body and makes us feel good mentally.

So you must have observed that many people who have encountered a huge setback start working out to remove the negativity.

5) Visualize

Visualize

Visualization, a technique that helps very effectively in resolving our mental disputes or blockages.

Visualization is simple, just visualize all the good and positive things that you have or want in your life and try to use it as motivation to deal with anything bad or worse you are facing currently.

Our mind does not understand the difference between reality and imagination,  and that is where visualization helps a lot.

Another key with visualization is we have to put belief in those visualizations.

When we create our own positive visualizations and put belief in those, our brain starts accepting it as reality and aligns our thoughts and body to works towards it.

6) Do something you like

hobby

Most of us work for a living and have some passion or hobby that is close to our heart but unable to follow it or pursue it on a regular basis.

So doing what you like especially a hobby or your passion is very good food for maintaining mental health.

7) Spend time with elders

Elders

Elders are the ones that we usually try to avoid spending time with.

But if you spend time with elders you will learn so much about life that no book or no class can teach you.

Moreover, spending time with them will also make you realize that what really matters and whatnot, and when we worry about things that doesn’t matter this learning helps us.

They have lived through their life and know what stays and what not so getting their insights about life and learning from it is very good for not only your mental health but for your thoughts about life.

These are the 7 food for good mental health that I think you should intake on a regular basis.

Your mental health is very important and only you yourself can take care of it.

Mental health should not be ignored at all.
